Goshen boy recovering at hospital after hit by truck

GOSHEN – A Goshen boy remains in a South Bend hospital recovering after he was hit by a pickup truck.

It happened when the 12-year-old was crossing Plymouth Avenue just west of Indiana Avenue on Thursday evening, according to our reporting partners at WNDU.

Police say Samuel Kreps Long ran in front of a truck driven by Rebecca Schlabach. She told police she was going about 25 miles an hour when it happened, and was unable to avoid hitting him.

Long suffered a broken femur and possible head injury. He was flown to a hospital in South Bend.
