4th Person Arrested In Connection To February’s Syracuse Murders

KCSD Press Release- Kosciusko County officials have arrested yet another subject as a result of the February 19th shooting incident in Syracuse, Indiana. Ashlyn Nicole Shepard, 21, Mishawaka, Indiana, was arrested this evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. and preliminarily charged with obstruction of justice, a level 6 felony.  Indiana State Troopers, at the request of detectives with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, located Shepard this evening and took her into custody.  She was then transported to the St. Joseph County Jail, South Bend, where she is currently being held on the Kosciusko County warrant.

 

During the course of the continued Syracuse shooting investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Syracuse Police Department, detectives had determined that Shepard was the girlfriend of Kyle Dehart.  Dehart is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on two counts of murder, along with a felony charge of obstruction of justice. 

 

Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Hampton will provide more information as related to the charges against Shepard with the probable cause affidavit that will be made available tomorrow morning.
