SYRACUSE — The Wawasee Alumni Association (WAA) presented a $15,000 donation to the Wawasee Athletic Department during Friday night’s football game at Warrior Field.
This gift will allow every Wawasee High School student to attend athletic events free of charge during the 2025–2026 school year.
The check presentation took place between the first and second quarters, as Warrior fans cheered alongside students and alumni. The contribution reflects the Alumni Association’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Warrior pride and ensuring that all students can participate fully in the high school athletic experience.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Wawasee Alumni Association for this generous gift,” said Brent Doty, Athletic Director, Wawasee Community School Corporation. “Their support ensures that every student can be part of the Warrior experience, cheering on their classmates and building lasting memories. This donation is a true reflection of Warrior pride and community spirit.”
The mission of the WAA is to support current Wawasee High School students by fostering school pride, strengthening community connections, and encouraging active engagement among alumni, parents, and local leaders. In addition to sponsoring free admission for students, the Association continues its tradition of providing athletic letter jackets to every qualifying athlete at no cost. Its work also extends to supporting extracurricular programs— including both athletics and fine arts — that enhance the overall student experience.
The Wawasee Alumni Association emphasized that none of this would be possible without the generosity of alumni, parents, sponsors, and community members who contribute year-round.
“Our alumni know what it means to be a Warrior,” said Carl Sewell, President of the Wawasee Alumni Association. “Through the support of our community, we are proud to give back and create opportunities for today’s students to build the same pride and spirit we experienced as students.”
