Warsaw — Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts is seeking local actors from across the region, ages 18 and up, to audition for Peter and the Starcatcher, the Tony Award-winning play with music.
This fast-paced and imaginative production will be presented by Wagon Wheel Community Theatre, a volunteer-driven regional enrichment program of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, a nonprofit organization and home to the nationally recognized Wagon Wheel Professional Theatre.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20 and Wednesday, January 21, with callbacks on Thursday, January 22. Rehearsals will begin February 9, and performances are scheduled for March 20 through 22. The production will be staged on Wagon Wheel’s iconic theatre-in-the-round stage.
Peter and the Starcatcher is an inventive prequel to Peter Pan that features ensemble storytelling, physical comedy, and moments of song and dance. The play follows pirates, adventurers, and unlikely heroes while exploring themes of friendship, duty, love, greed, and hope.
The production will be directed and choreographed by New York City-based theatre professional Ian B. Connor, a native of Milford native, and a graduate of Wawasee High School.
Assistant direction will be provided by Emilie Barr, with costumes by DJ Reed, stage management by Litsa Vlahos, and music direction by Wagon Wheel Director of Outreach and Education Kira Lace Hawkins.
Those interested in auditioning are encouraged to complete the online audition form.
Participants should select one audition date, either Tuesday or Wednesday, and one arrival time at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., , or 8 p.m. Walk-ins will also be accepted and processed upon arrival.
