SYRACUSE — Wawasee High School Athletic Director Brent Doty announced Tuesday that, effective immediately, Joe Luce is no longer serving as the head boys basketball coach.
Luce was in his first year.
No reason was cited for the midseason coaching change in the school’s press release.
The school announced that Assistant Coach Nate O’Connell has agreed to serve as the new coach.
O’Connell began his coaching career with Wawasee Boys Basketball in 2008 and has been a part of the Warrior basketball program for many years. He was a member of the last boys basketball coaching staff at Wawasee High School to win a sectional championship.
Throughout his time at Wawasee, Coach O’Connell has demonstrated a deep understanding of the game of basketball, a strong commitment to player development, and a genuine care for the young men he coaches.
