WARSAW — Numerous different groups are working together in Kosciusko County to host a Suicide Prevention Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at The Gathering Place, 123 S. Buffalo St. in Warsaw.
Supporting groups include CARES, Fellowship Missions, Allendale Treatment, Bowen Health, and representatives of the Kosciusko County LOSS (Local Outreach for Suicide Survivors) Team.
The event is an opportunity for community members to learn how they can recognize the signs of suicide, connect people to resources, remember loved ones lost to suicide, and help bring hope to those who may be struggling.
Community members can register for one of two QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Training sessions:
● QPR Lunch & Learn: 11 a.m.–1 p.m. — Free meal included
● QPR Training Dinner: 6–8 p.m. — Free meal included
In addition to the training, the community is invited to attend open house activities from 1–4 p.m. No registration is required to participate in the open house.
Activities will include:
● Suicide Loss Remembrance & Hope Room — Families are welcome to bring a copy
of a photo of a loved one to be included in a space for remembrance and reflection.
● Hope Wall — Community members can share messages of hope, strength, and
encouragement.
● Rock Painting — Paint uplifting messages that can later be shared throughout the
community.
● Take-Home Hope Kits — Grab a kit filled with items designed to inspire hope and
encourage self-care.
The event is designed to bring the community together in a welcoming environment where
people can learn, connect, remember, and find hope.
Registration is required for the QPR training sessions. Scan the QR code on event materials
