There will be a change at the top of the Kosciusko County Highway Department.

The Kosciusko County Commissioners announced Tuesday that Steve Moriarty’s last day as highway superintendent will be Friday.

Moriarty says he will be taking a new job as a consultant to other counties on their road and bridge projects.

The Mentone native started working at the highway department in 1997 as a part-timer and has led the department since 2020.

Assistant Superintendent Troy Kintzel will become the new superintendent.
