Notre Dame to wear “Ara” decals on football helmets this season

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will wear a tribute to their deceased former coach this season.

The Irish were at their fall training camp when they learned of the death of legendary Notre Dame Football Coach Ara Parseghian. The team will pay tribute to the coach this season with an “Ara” decal on their helmets.

He last coached the team in 1974, but current players and coaches say they are very much aware of the impact his legacy has had on the team, the school, and the community.

Current Head Coach Brian Kelly called Parseghian “A man’s man,” and “a football coach’s dream in a sense that he represents the toughness of the game for us.”
