A seven-man, six-woman jury was seated Tuesday in the child molestation trial of Jose Izaguirre.

Izaguirre, 32, of Warsaw, appeared Tuesday in Kosciusko Circuit Court in the custody of the sheriff and is being represented by local attorney Jay Rigdon.

He is facing three Level 1 felonies for child molesting after he was charged in 2019 and accused of having sexual intercourse multiple times with a girl who was 10 years old.

Several jurors throughout the morning were excused after saying they aren’t comfortable with the subject matter. Others were excused because they said they had already formed an opinion after learning the charges.

Kosciusko Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Sobek is working on behalf of the state, and Circuit Court Judge Mike Reed is presiding.

The trial is expected to last through Thursday.
