SYRACUSE – An Anderson man was arrested Thursday for child molesting, a level 4 felony, that allegedly occurred in Syracuse.
Terry Lee Shaw, 53, of 357 Imagination Drive, Anderson, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday afternoon and is being held on an $15,250 bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, a Syracuse police officer responded to a child molesting complaint involving a house guest and minor female.
The officer spoke with a woman who advised she had invited Shaw to her summer home. He arrived at the residence July 8. On July 16, Shaw got into an argument with the woman’s mother and was asked to leave the home. Once Shaw was gone, a minor female visiting the vacation home became emotional and told her family that Shaw had touched her inappropriately.
Officers spoke with the girl who advised that on July 14 she was lying on the couch and next to Shaw covered in a blanket. Everyone else in the room was asleep. Shaw allegedly put his hand down the front of her shorts and her underwear and placed his hand on her private parts. He allegedly did not move his hand for several minutes and the girl was not sure what to do. She pulled his hand from her shorts and told Shaw she was ready to go to bed. Shaw allegedly told her not to tell anyone what had occurred. She told the police officer that she was scared and did not feel safe telling anyone until after Shaw left.
On July 18, the family filed a protective order against Shaw. While filing the protective order, Shaw allegedly contacted one of the women and told her, “You better watch your [explicit] mouth and who you talk to, you could come up missing and be a dead girl.”
