Arbutus McCane

Arbutus McCane, age 75 of rural Rochester, passed away quietly on August 12, 2022 at 10:41 p.m. in Rochester at Woodlawn Hospital. Her family was by her side.

Born Arbutus Irene Konkle, Arby, as most knew her, was born on June 27, 1947 in Warsaw. She spent her formative years in the Mentone area, graduating from Mentone High School with the class of 1965. That same year, on April 7, she was united in marriage to Wendell E. McCane. The pair shared more than forty-five years together before his passing in 2010.

Arby was a fun-loving and family-loving person; she loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She is remembered for her cooking, especially for her chicken casserole, cinnamon rolls, cream pie, and many other things. She enjoyed sewing, going to auctions and spending time in her gardens. She was a longtime member of Westside Apostolic Church, Rochester and had great faith in the Lord.

Those who survive with broken hearts include her two children: Devon (Kassie) McCane of Rochester and Kiscia (Dave) Harshman of Rochester and five grandchildren: Keyonna (Jay) Tobias of Lexington, NC, Bree (Charles) Keumin of Rochester, Colton McCane of Rochester, Karlee Harshman of Rochester and Jakob Harshman of Rochester. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Lynwood Konkle and his wife, Gloria. In addition to her husband, Wendell McCane, she was preceded in passing by her parents.

A Life Celebration® is entrusted to Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Friends may gather there on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. On Friday, Arby’s Life Celebration Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Steve Addison of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
