Argos man faces felony child solicitation charge

MENTONE – An Argos man was arrested after police say he attempted to solicit a minor for sex.

Albert Preston Miller, 28, of 561 N. Michigan St., Argos, was charged with one count of child solicitation, a level 5 felony.

On July 6, a Mentone police officer received information about text messages and nude photos being sent to a girl between 14 to 15 years old, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.

The officer reviewed the texts and found the man had requested the girl meet him at a hotel. Miller also sent the girl nude pictures. The victim told the officer Miller had asked her to send suggestive pictures of her.

The officer used the girl’s phone to call the number, and Miller answered the phone, according to the affidavit.

A warrant was issued July 20. Miller was arrested and  booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Monday. His bond was set $10,250.
