Banks announces Rusthoven will join Washington staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today announced that Mark Rusthoven has been hired as a legislative assistant in his Washington office.

Since 2013, Rusthoven has worked as a policy research assistant for Indiana Governor Mike Pence, focusing on economic research and long-term policy planning.

“Mark understands the issues important to our state and the Third District,” said Banks. “He will be a valuable addition to my staff as we promote conservative solutions and serve the residents of northeast Indiana.”

Rusthoven is an Indianapolis native and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Economics and Political Science. He earned a Master’s in Economics from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis while working for Governor Pence. Rusthoven also interned with former Senator Richard Lugar in 2010 and then-Congressman Mike Pence in 2011.
