The boardwalk is already surrounded by wetland greenery but a section near benches placed in memory of Helen and Jerry Wallace needed some attention.
Mike Bradford, of Bradford’s Outdoor Creations, approached Warsaw Parks and Recreation Superintendent Larry Plummer about donating his time and the materials to spruce the location up. In May, Plummer informed the Parks Board of the offer, and all work has now been completed, according to a news release from the city of Warsaw.
Started in 1999 by Bradford, the local family business has worked previously with the Parks Department during the construction of the Lucerne Park Amphitheater.
Regarding the Beyer Farm Trail project, Bradford said, “We appreciate the opportunities to enhance the beauty of places like Lucerne Park and Oakwood Cemetery with the many retaining wall projects. We wanted to offer something back to the community and the landscaping we provided is a small token of our appreciation. Our hope is for everyone to simply enjoy what our parks and community have to offer.”
The Beyer Farm Trail is located along Pike Lake and is available for use all year.
