Bill Filed To Allow Carryout Sales Of Alcohol On Sundays

A bill has been filed to allow for the carryout sale of alcohol on Sunday.  Under House Bill 16-24,  retail stores with the right permits would be able to sell carryout alcohol on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Currently retailers are only permitted to sell carryout alcohol from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday.  The bill also repeals an existing restriction on package liquor stores limiting what items they may sell, which would let liquor stores sell items that can be sold in a grocery store, convenience store or drug store. The bill would not change the law that allows microbreweries and farm wineries to sell carryout alcohol on Sunday.
