Car crash in Syracuse Christmas night claims two lives

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department F.A.C.T. team responded to a head-on collision in Syracuse Christmas night with two fatalities.

Five people were involved in the crash, including the two deceased.  The three surviving individuals were sent to Parkview and Lutheran Hospitals in Fort Wayne.

The collision occurred just before 6:15pm, Sunday at the intersection of Syracuse-Webster Road and CR 1200 North, also known as “crazy corners.”

A preliminary determination in to the cause of the crash has determined that one of the vehicles involved had purportedly been “racing” in the wrong lane of traffic prior to the collision.
