WARSAW — CASA of Kosciusko County continues to seek more volunteers for its program and will host an open house this afternoon in Warsaw.

The recruiting effort is from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Warsaw Community Church, which is located on South County Farm Road.

CASA provides court appointed advocates for children who have been abused or neglected.

Executive Director Erin Roland-Jones explains what they hope to achieve.

“It’s an open-house style event. You can come in and talk with a staff person or a CASA volunteer (and) see what it’s like to volunteer, have your questions answered and if you feel so inclined, we can have  you fill out a volunteer application and get you ready to start summer training,” she said.

CASA has four paid staff and 54 active volunteers that assist more than 100 children.

“We always need more staff. Unfortunately, we’re seeing more kids in need and we need more staff and volunteers to serve them,” Roland Jones said.
