TIMES UNION REPORTS – CASA of Kosciusko recently held their annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. At this event, they recognized all of their volunteer advocates and their contributions. One volunteer in particular was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year.

This year’s recipient was Angela Fulton, according to a news release from CASA. Fulton has been a CASA volunteer since November 2017. During that time, she has had a total of five cases that included a total of 17 children. She balances her full-time job as an agent for RE/MAX Results with her CASA volunteer advocacy.

According to Fulton, the old saying “children should be seen, not heard” is entirely incorrect. She feels as if every child has the right to be heard and CASA volunteers provide a voice for children embroiled in the court system, the release states.

“Seeing a child’s life be changed in a positive way by your involvement is the best feeling” Fulton explained, “because you advocated for them, they can now live a better life in a stable and happy home.”

CASA of Kosciusko County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children who are entangled in the Kosciusko County court system by recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
