Talks of the changes to Center Lake Pavilion and the Parks Maintenance Building was in discussion at Tuesday’s Warsaw Parks and Recreation board meeting.

Parks Superintendent Larry Plummer said some changes are being made, such as the parks office being incorporated with the maintenance building.

In original plans, the offices were going to be incorporated into the second floor of Center Lake Pavilion, however Plummer said having the offices within the maintenance building to keep the staff close with the maintenance department. He also mentioned ease of access for the public, so that visitors do not have to utilize stairs or an elevator to reach the park offices.

Plans to renovate Center Lake Pavilion both inside and outside are still in the works, as changes to the first floor will be done, allowing the building to open up more and have a view of the lake.

Updating on reopening plans, beaches, playgrounds and basketball courts opened last week.

Campgrounds are open to their seasonal campers, with opening to daily, weekly and monthly campers on July 4th.

Shelter rentals are open at 50 percent capacity and Mantis Skate Park is set to open July 6th.
