Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer and George Clemens and clerk-treasurer Lynn Christiansen attended the Friday board of works meeting, with board member Jeff Grose attending virtually.

According to our partners at the Times-Union, the board approved a memorandum of understanding with county government officials to share leasing costs of the Shrine Building’s east room, which is being used as the Bowen Center Kosciusko County COVID-19 testing facility.

Costs to rent the building are $4,000 per month. The county will pay two-thirds of the costs or $2,666.67 and the city will pay one-third of the lease amount or $1,333.33. The first month’s payment is due to the fair board no later than Dec. 21. The agreement lasts until Feb. 28. Funds will come from CARES Act money.
