WARSAW — Kosciusko County is working with the Tippecanoe Chapman Regional Sewer District to expand its jurisdiction to include East Webster Lake.

The district will be seeking money from the state to cover some of the costs to add 200 more households, which would represent the final large phase in efforts to provide service to the entire area.

An agreement is now being drafted that would help ensure the district wins funding from the state.

Steve Henschen, an engineer for Jones Petrie Rafinski, talked about the financial impact the addition would have.

“There’d be some shared costs to help bring their costs down, but no added costs to the district,” Henschen said.

County commissioner Bob Conley applauded the efforts.

“Two hundred homes coming in — that’s great. That’s kind of what we were hoping for,” Conley said.

Construction of the sewer project is now about 65 percent complete and Henchen said they hope to finish the work this year.
