COVID-19 cases take large jump over holiday weekend in Kosciusko County

25 new COVID-19 cases were reported by the Kosciusko County Health Department over the holiday weekend.

Officials say seven of the cases came in on Saturday and eight each day on Sunday and Monday. This brings the county total up to 94. This is through 1,560 tests completed according to the Indiana State Department of Health. According to the state dashboard, six percent of Kosciusko County’s tests are positive cases.

No new cases were reported in the county’s Tuesday update.

ON THE STATE LEVEL

An additional 373 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Tuesday update from the Indiana State Department of Health, along with 18 more deaths. This brings the total number of cases up to 32,078 and the total number of deaths to 1,850.

4,551 new tests were reported in the new update, and 230,749 tests have been completed. The percent of positive cases in the state has fallen to 13.9 percent, just one-tenth lower than Monday’s update.
