KCSD Press Release – A Warsaw woman is in serious condition following a single vehicle crash last night on the north side of the city.

Warsaw Police officers and emergency personnel responded last night at 9:44 p.m. to a 9-1-1 call of a single vehicle crash on U.S. 30 near State Road 15.  Officers arrived and located a blue, 1998 Chevy Blazer on its top, off the roadway.  Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Territory firemen extricated the driver, identified as Ciara Rose Burchett, 23, Warsaw, from the wreckage.  She was treated by Multi-Township E.M.S. paramedics before being airlifted to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, in serious condition.
Kosciusko County F.A.C.T./crash team members responded and stated that the initial investigation indicated that Burchett was eastbound on U.S. 30 exiting the off-ramp from State Road 15.  Officers determined that Burchett had over-corrected once entering onto U.S. 30, and lost control of her vehicle.  The Chevy Blazer went off the roadway, rolling-over several times.
Officers stated that the crash is still under investigation pending legal blood draw results.  The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team was assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Police Department, Multi-Township E.M.S., Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Territory, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
