Democrat Jack Brunetto was sworn in as a Warsaw Plan Commission member at the Monday night meeting.

He replaces Dave Baumgartner, who left the position after moving.

Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer says Brunetto was asked to fill the role in part because he frequently attended Plan Commission meetings as a citizen.

“By virtue of state statute, there is a political balance requirement,” Thallemer explained to the board. “With his commitment to just showing up at the meetings and sitting out here, its time to get on the other side of that desk and start affecting change in the community.”

He is also running for a Common Council seat this election.
