DePuy Synthes acknowledges local staff reductions

WARSAW — News Now Warsaw and the Times-Union both received calls last week about apparent layoffs at DePuy Synthes, the orthopedic manufacturer in Warsaw.

The Times-Union reached out to DePuy about the layoff of 82 employees.  A former employee also tells News Now Warsaw that the third shift had been eliminated.

Depuy, replying to the Times-Union, said the company continues to evolve amid a rapidly changing environment and is changing its operating model at the Warsaw manufacturing site “to better align with current business needs.”

The company said it recognizes the potential impact to employees because of the changes and “are committed to providing them with the appropriate support.”
