Drought Conditions Continue, Spread Across State

Moderate drought conditions continue across the area, and much of the state has gotten drier.

The newest update from the US Drought Monitor continues to indicate Marshall and Fulton counties in a moderate drought, with areas of Kosciusko, Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. Abnormally dry conditions have also spread across northeastern Indiana, with only a small area of Steuben and De Kalb counties remaining normal on precipitation.

Across the state, 19 percent is under a moderate drought, up five percent from a week ago, and 76 percent of the state is now “abnormally dry,” up from 45 percent just a week ago.
