Dual immersion program expands in Warsaw schools

Dual immersion is coming to another school in Warsaw.

The program provides classes for students in English and Spanish, and has been available and Eisenhower Elementary since 2016.

Its now slated to launch at Leesburg Elementary in the fall of 2018.

“We are extremely excited to move forward through this grant with a second school offering dual language immersion as an option,”  said Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert.

“This past year we saw the great success of the program at Eisenhower Elementary and the community desire for additional programming. Because of this success, the Indiana Department of Education and WCS are proud to offer additional opportunities in learning world languages to students.”

The Times Union reports parents can choose between the dual immersion program or a traditional kindergarten option when enrolling their children.
