Edgewood Middle School was briefly evacuated Friday morning.

Students were taken to Washington STEM Academy as NIPSCO & the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Department investigated a report of a gas smell. They say there was not a gas leak present.

At 8:40 a.m. staff and students were given the all clear to re-enter the building.

Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert tells News Now Warsaw they were using an abundance of caution and he is thankful to first responders for their quick and diligent response.
