ETNA GREEN — Patricia Cook has resigned as the Etna Green Clerk-Treasurer, and blames town council members for creating a hostile environment over what she called belittling and hurtful comments about her late husband, Andy.

Cook’s resignation letter was addressed to town residents and sent to Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Mike Ragan, who will oversee her replacement.

She said the personal attacks caused significant emotional distress that made it difficult to do her job.

Andy Cook died in 2023 and had worked as the town’s wastewater and street superintendent.

Patricia has held the job since 2018.

She has lived in Etna Green since the mid-1980s and served previously as deputy clerk for the town.

In her letter, she said she was proud of her work and that her resignation would be effective May 31.
