The North Webster Community Public Library will host “Hospice 101” at 2 pm on Monday, Oct. 5. The program will provide an opportunity for individuals and families to learn more about hospice and palliative care and how these services can support those living with serious or life-limiting illnesses.
Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals living with a life-limiting illness. Palliative care can help individuals manage symptoms, improve comfort, and maintain quality of life while living with a serious illness.

Kami Fisher, Hospice Care Consultant for Heartland Hospice, and Abby Smith, Director of Client Services for Seasons HomeCare, will lead the program and discuss what hospice care is, when to consider calling hospice, what families can expect, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how hospice and palliative care may benefit them or a loved one.
“Hospice 101” is open to anyone interested in learning more about these services, whether for themselves, a family member, or a loved one. The program is free to attend.
