DESCRIPTION:Spring Clean Up at Oakwood Cemetery\nThe City of Warsaw-Oakwood Cemetery staff have begun spring cleaning the cemetery grounds.\nAccording to the Board of Regents rules and regulations\, grave blankets should have been removed by\nMarch 1. The remaining blankets will be removed and disposed of by the groundskeepers.\nAll decorations for spring\, summer and fall must be placed on the monument’s cement foundation\,\nmonument base or on top of the monument.\nDecorations placed in or on the ground will be removed.\nFor safety reasons\, glass vases/decorations and shepherd hooks are not permitted.\nTo obtain a copy of the rules and regulations\, please visit the cemetery office or go online at\nwarsaw.in.gov and use the City of Warsaw official website.\nGreat appreciation goes out to the families and friends of deceased loved ones for following the\ncemetery rules. In doing so this allows the staff to properly and efficiently care for the cemetery.

DESCRIPTION:The Board of Directors of the Palestine Cemetery\, Inc.\, Palestine\, Indiana\,\nreminds its patrons that all grave decorations must be removed or brought into\ncompliance with the cemetery regulations by April 1\, 2026\, to allow for spring\ncleanup. Decorations not in compliance with cemetery regulations after April 1\,\n2026\, will be disposed of. The following are regulations of the Palestine\nCemetery\, Inc. regarding plantings\, flowers\, and shrubbery:\n All flowers must be placed within the line of the headstone\, on cement or\nin a cement urn\, or fastened to the headstone securely.\n No wires\, glass\, shepherd’s hooks\, or hanging baskets may be set in the\nground.\n All shrubbery shall be maintained or it will be removed at the owner’s\nexpense.\n Winter grave blankets are permitted if removed by April 1.\n All plantings and/or shrubbery must have approval of the Cemetery Board\nprior to planting.\nQuestions may be directed to the sexton of the Palestine Cemetery\, Inc.\, Brett\nBoggs\, at (574) 551-2432.

DESCRIPTION:The agricultural community is invited to attend Soil-Con 2026; a full-day educational event focused on soil health and practical conservation strategies. Attendance is FREE\, but registration is required. The event will take place on Tuesday\, March 17\, 2026\, at the Oakwood Event Center (849 E. Lake View Rd\, Syracuse\, Indiana). Doors open at 8:00am.   \nSoil-Con will bring together three perspectives on soil health. Paul Jasa will show how no-till systems must be managed correctly in the field. Dr. Ray Weil will explain the soil biology and nutrient cycling that make those systems work. And Dr. Thomas Dykstra will connect both to long-term plant health and insect pressure.
