DESCRIPTION:The Sacred Heart Community Meal will be Tuesday May 19\, 5:00pm-6:30pm or until food is gone.\nThere is inside dining or the option to come in and pick up a carry out. Carry outs will not start until 5:45.\nThe meal menu this month will be Pulled Pork Sandwich\, Green Beans\, Fruit Cup and Dessert. DESCRIPTION:Presentation Will Explore Pierceton’s Historic Downtown\n“Picturing Pierceton: Then & Now”\nMay 19\, 6:45 p.m.\, Pierceton Community Building \nPIERCETON\, Ind. — The public is invited to “Picturing Pierceton: Then & Now\,” a free slide presentation on Tuesday\, May 19\, at 6:45 p.m. at the Pierceton Community Building\, 105 W. Walnut St. \nThrough rare historical photographs paired with recent views\, historian and Pierceton native Joan Hostetler will bring Pierceton’s downtown to life. Topics include the oldest surviving Italianate-style structures dating to 1882\, the great fire of 1895 that destroyed the west side of First Street\, the work of hometown architect Frank Logan\, and how the antiques trade put Pierceton on the map. The downtown commercial district is remarkably intact and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. \nThis Historic Preservation Month program is part of the Pierceton Public Library’s America 250 celebration and is sponsored by the Library\, with assistance from the Pierceton Heritage Association.
