Firefighter Faces Four Charges Of Criminal Sexual Conduct

A Sturgis firefighter has been charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl. 36-year old Joshua Snyder is facing four charges of criminal sexual conduct. Prosecutors say he allegedly had a sexual relationship with one of his daughter's friends. The victim is also the daughter of another Sturgis firefighter. Court documents claim the teen would visit Snyder at the fire station alone in the evening hours. Snyder would also give the girl rides in his car. Other firefighters found some of this behavior inappropriate and reported it to police. Police eventually interviewed the teenage girl who admitted to having a sexual relationship with Snyder. Snyder has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
