A five-year-old child is the second to die of flu in Kosciusko County

A child in Kosciusko County has died as a result of the flu.

The Kosciusko County Coroner confirmed a 5-year-old was pronounced dead on December 27th after falling ill. An autopsy showed the child died of complications from the strain of “Influenza A”.

This is the second flu-related death of the season for Kosciusko County, with the first being an elderly person.

Children and the elderly are the most susceptible to serious complications stemming from the flu virus.

There have been at least 136 flu-related deaths in Indiana so far this flu season.
