Fleeing Shoplifter Kills Woman in Car Crash

Indianapolis police have identified a shoplifting suspect who ran a red light and caused a three-vehicle crash that killed a woman and injured her grandson and another passenger in her pickup truck.
Police say 21-year-old Matthew Edmonds of Indianapolis paces preliminary charges of theft, resisting law enforcement and driving with a suspended license.
They say Edmonds spotted a police car on Indianapolis' south side Monday morning and sped off, running a red light near Fountain Square and colliding with the truck and a car.
Police say the crash killed 63-year-old Donna Niblock of Indianapolis. Her 11-year-old grandson was hospitalized in critical condition and another passenger, 37-year-old LaDonna Rogers of Indianapolis is in serious condition.
