Former Bears player stars in movie filming in South Bend

A former player for the Chicago Bears is starring in a movie being filmed in South Bend.

The short film is based on the book “Bully Me Badd”, which is about an African American albino who gets bullied at school, according to WNDU.

It stars Israel Idonije, who played for the Bears until 2012.

“I think the lesson and message is ultimately that we all need to kind of not judge each other and not go through life through that judgmental lens, and ultimately that makes our world better,” he explains.

Film crews shot in the parking lot of a BP gas station on Western Avenue in South Bend on Saturday.
