Former gangster John Dillinger to be exhumed

The body of John Dillinger is going to be exhumed from his Indianapolis grave and much like the man himself there is a lot of mystery behind why.

No reason was given as the nephew of John Dillinger, Michal Thompson filed a request back in June to dig him up. However, there was no reason given as to why. All we know is that the body will be reburied in mid-September. Dillinger and his gang has been credited with robbing twenty banks and four police station in the 1930’s, and he was at one point considered Public Enemy #1.

He was killed in 1934 when federal authorities tracked him to a theater in Chicago, and his grave has become a popular stop for tourists.
