The Fort Wayne Police Department's School Resource Officer Program has been honored.
The National Association of School Resources has given the Fort Wayne Police Department's School Resource Officer program the 2015 NASRO Model Agency Award. Fort Wayne Community Schools nominated the department for the nationwide competition. Police Chief Garry Hamilton said he was proud of the officers serving in the SRO program. Two of the six SRO officers in Fort Wayne will go to Orlando in July to pick up the award during the 25th Annual School Safety Conference.
