GoFundMe Page Started For Family Whose Home Was Damaged By Fire

PIERCETON – A GoFundMe page has been started for the family whose home in Pierceton was damaged by fire.

On Monday, Pierceton Fire Department was called to the home at 7205 E. CR 150N, Pierceton, which is owned and occupied by Kevin and Nicky Slone. Along with Pierceton Fire Department, responding were fire departments from North Webster, Leesburg, Winona Lake, Sidney, Larwill and Warsaw.

According to Tuesday’s Times-Union story, everyone at home at the time of the fire escaped without injury.

The GoFundMe page was started by Nicky’s mother, Beth Brewer, on Wednesday with a goal of $10,000.

Brewer said she wanted to get money for her daughter’s family to get clothes, food, as well as replacement toys for Brewer’s grandson, Isaac.

Brewer also said they’re hoping to get enough money where Kevin and Nicky can knock down what’s left of the house and build a trailer at the property.

The GoFundMe page can be found under “House fire in Pierceton Indiana.”

Brewer also said if people want to donate things like furniture, she has a storage shed for bigger things to store them at the moment.

If anyone wants to donate anything, they can email cookindiana@frontier.com.

“I know Warsaw is great with giving,” Brewer said. “I’ve seen some people in Warsaw do some amazing things.”
