Goshen woman injured after horse-drawn buggies collide, overturn

One person was injured when two horse-drawn buggies collided near Middlebury.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1 on County Road 41 north of County Road 34, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

A buggy driven by a 22-year-old Millersburg man was headed south of CR 41 and crossed into the oncoming line, strking the other buggy, driven by a 52-year-old Goshen man, the sheriff’s department reported.

The Goshen man’s buggy overturned. A 50-year-old female passenger in his buggy was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for a cut to her face and back pain.
