Grace College “Appetizer Wars” Brings In Over 200 People

Update: It was a battle of the taste buds Tuesday night in Winona Lake. Appetizer Wars attracted more than 200 people to taste food from 11 local restaurants. Students who are part of a Grace College business course organized the event. All proceeds went to locally-based LifeTouch Ministries, a non-profit counseling center that specializes in serving low-income individuals. Food from the Korner Grill was the judge's top choice, and the popular vote award went to Viand Chef Services.

Original Story: Grace College's Adult program will be holding an “appetizer wars” fundraiser event tonight on the Grace College Campus from 6:30-8:30 pm. Professor Matt Metzger wanted to provide his students with a unique and memorable class, so instead of lecturing, assigning papers, and giving tests, he is teaching the class to host an actual event. The class invited top local restaurants and caterers to present an appetizer and compete for a trophy. The guests at this event will sample the appetizers and pick a “crowd favorite” winner. There will also be door prizes and goody bags for the guests. There will also be live music, childcare, and an opportunity to learn more about the charity Grace is partnering with. Tickets are  $10 and limited to the first 100 guests.
