Grace College to host engineering camp for middle school students

Middle school students can learn about engineering at a new summer camp.

Grace College is hosting the day camp for sixth through eighth graders in July.

Students will design and race dragsters to learn the basics of mechanical engineering.

The camp is created and led by Chair of the Grace College Engineering Department Dr. Fred Wentorf.

We’re very excited to offer the first-of-its-kind engineering camp to local students this summer,” said Wentorf.  “The camp is designed to spark students’ interest in STEM — and engineering specifically — through fun, hands-on learning with CO2 drag racing.”

The cost per student is $350, which includes lunch and engineering supplies. Need-based scholarships are available.
