A Granger man faces up to 25 years in prison in the attempted rape of a teenage girl. 40 year-old Scott Louis Gressel is charged with attempted rape as well as one count each of child seduction and sexual battery. Gressel was arrested last week. The Elkhart Truth reports he admitted to Elkhart Sheriff’s officers that he entered the victim’s bedroom and pushed her on a bed. They struggled and she tried to choke him until he pinned her down. His initial hearing is set for Thursday afternoon. Gressel is being held in Elkhart County Jail, with bond set at $125,000.
