Group Home Worker Sentenced For Sex Crime

It's 13 years behind bars, with three years suspended, for a South Bend Group Home Worker who pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal deviate conduct for sexually abusing a mentally disabled man. 51 year-old Lance Anglin was accused of forcing a 49-year-old mentally disabled resident to perform a sex act. The victim told his mother about what happened when she came to visit with him…and the investigation began. The Court emphasized that the abuse of trust was the predominant factor in determining what the appropriate sentence would be and considered the severe defect of the victim's mental status as an additional aggravating factor.  Anglin will also be required to register as a sex offender. Anglin had been out on bond until the sentencing hearing when he was taken into immediate custody upon hearing his fate.
