The man accused of raping and murdering April Tinsley pleaded guilty Friday morning.

John Miller, 59, pleaded guilty to murder and child molesting charges during a hearing. He was in court for a change of venue hearing.

April Tinsley, 8, disappeared from her home in Fort Wayne on April 1, 1988. Her body was found three days later in a ditch about 20 miles away.

Miller was arrested in July after investigators determined him to be a suspect through a genealogy database.

Miller faces a maximum of 80 years in prison, with 50 years for murder and 30 years for child molesting.
