Harvest Travel Safety Tips

It's Harvest Time, and all over Indiana. There are new challenges on rural roads for everyone involved. Farmers are bringing in their crops, and that means farm equipment on the roadways as it gets moved from field to field. Indiana State Police remind farmers to make sure their vehicles and equipment are properly lit and marked, and that it is visible at night. Motorists need to remember that farm equipment have the same rights as other vehicles, so it's important to exercise patience, share the road, and even be prepared to stop to allow large pieces of farm machinery to pass. Keep an extra eye out around dusk, when it becomes harder to see.
