‘High Wind Warning’ Could Cause Travel Headaches

The National Weather Service is cautioning travelers today as winds howl across the area.

A High Wind Warning is in effect through tonight as winds could gust upwards of 60 MPH. Winds will begin out of the southwest and will eventually turn westward. This could cause issues on the roadways, especially north/south roads where a cross wind could rock semi-trucks and high profile vehicles.

Loose objects, such as trash cans, will be moved without issue, and the winds could down trees and cause power outages.

Winds are forecast to be at their strongest between 11 AM and 2 PM. With temperatures falling throughout the day, the winds will also help create a very chilly environment with wind chills falling into the 20s.
