High Winds leave 350 Powerless in Milford

Winds on Monday knocked out power to roughly 350 customers in Milford.

The National Weather Service says wind gusts were between 35 and 45 miles per hour at times Monday afternoon, causing disruption of power in other cities throughout the area.

In northwest Indiana, NIPSCO says 50,000 customers were without power in Gary and surrounding cities such as Hammond, Munster and Merrillville.

Crews were out during the course of Monday and will continue to clear branches and repair lines and power poles to get all their customers restored.
