Hoosier Guardsman Honored For Battle Injuries

A Hoosier Guardsman will be honored for injuries he suffered in battle. In a ceremony today, Indiana National Guard Adjutant General Martin Umbarger will present a Purple Heart to Chief Warrant Officer Rodney Harp. Harp, who is now retired, was serving on a humanitaran Agriculture mission in Afghanistan. Harp was helping with animal breeding efforts for residents when he was injured in a mortar attack. Harp has also served in several international deployments and assisted during state emergencies.
