Hunger Walk

The 30th annual walk will be Sept. 27 starting at 10 a.m. at The Salvation Army, 501 E. Arthur St., Warsaw. The walk includes the Beyer Farm Trail or a shorter route that passes through Oakwood Cemetery. Monies collected by the walkers go to support Church World Service and their outreach around the world to address hunger, emergencies, refugees, immigration, children and water. The needs in all of these areas continue to increase around the world. Church World Service is a cooperative ministry of 37 Christian communions working with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. The Salvation Army will receive 25 percent of the proceeds locally to address hunger in Kosciusko County and support its Choice Food Pantry. An informational meeting will be  Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army to distribute materials to churches, businesses and groups that want to participate. The event is sponsored by the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association to raise awareness and funds to address the growing needs of poverty around the world. Persons may register or donate online; Google search  Kosciusko CROP. Donations also may be sent my mail to GWMA, P.O. Box 1797, Warsaw, IN 46581.
